What every product page tells you
- Weight
In ounces per square yard. Heavier denim is stiffer at first and lasts longer.
- Composition
The cotton content, and any stretch. Women's stretch blends say so up front.
- Selvedge
Woven on a shuttle loom, with a clean, self-finished edge you can see at the cuff.
- Shrinkage
How much raw denim shrinks on its first wash, as a number.
- Hardware and thread
The buttons, rivets and topstitch thread, named.
